Information around application

Climate change, resource scarcity, and the growing demand for affordable housing as well as commercial and industrial buildings present society major challenges and call for new approaches across the entire construction and renovation sector. This is precisely why smart and sustainable construction is at the heart of this year’s NEO2026 Innovation Award. The award honors market-ready solutions and projects that actively drive this transformation and thus make an important contribution to society.

The competition consists of two stages. In the first phase, interested parties submit their applications by July 6, 2026, in the form of a concise brief description using the form provided below. All companies, institutions, public administrations, and academic institutions from Germany and Alsace in France are eligible to participate. An independent jury of experts from academia, business, and politics will then evaluate the submitted projects. The highest-rated projects will be asked to submit additional documentation. Based on this, the jury will ultimately select up to five finalists.

Further information on the application process can be found in the following brochure.
