The UITP Summit is one of the world's most important events in the field of public transport and sustainable urban mobility. Organized by the International Association of Public Transport (UITP), the summit brings together experts, decision-makers and companies from over 110 countries every year. It provides a platform for the exchange of innovations, strategies and best practices in public transport.

The city of Hamburg is hosting the UITP Summit for the first time. The event will take place at the Hamburg Messe exhibition center and the Congress Center Hamburg (CCH). Over 10,000 international visitors are expected, including more than 400 exhibitors and around 2,800 congress participants.

Thematic focus

The summit program is divided into six central topics:

• Net Zero Cities: Strategies for achieving climate-neutral cities.
• Operations: Adaptation of transport services to local needs.
• Lifestyle: integrating sustainable mobility into everyday life.
• People-centricity: Focusing on the needs of passengers.
• Sustainability: Aligning mobility planning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
• Technology: Use of new technologies to improve public transportation.

Interactive formats and highlights

In addition to specialist presentations and discussions, the UITP Summit offers practical insights through technical tours, during which projects such as the electrification of the bus fleet, the autonomous on-demand shuttle project and the "Radkultur" bicycle promotion program will be presented. Start-ups have the opportunity to present their innovative ideas in a special exhibition area and make contacts. A special event is the public mobility festival on June 14, 2025 in Hamburg's city center, which offers citizens the opportunity to learn about the mobility transition and experience new transport concepts interactively.
