Current transformation processes are also leading to rapid technological changes in our region. New fields of innovation and requirements for the successful transfer of innovations into economic practice are emerging. In addition to topic-specific strategies in the areas of bioeconomy and energy, we are also working on the overall further development of the regional innovation system.

The aim is to connect innovation players with each other and make experts more visible both internally and externally. In this way, we highlight the potential for transformation in the region so that companies can develop resilient strategies for the future.

InnoTranSystem TRK

This project focuses on innovation potential in the Karlsruhe TechnologyRegion. How can companies in the region further develop existing expertise? What knowledge is already available in the region? What synergy effects can be created between science and industry? How can current developments such as AI be addressed?

To answer these questions, we are mapping expert knowledge, networking stakeholders and developing and expanding transformation fields. Five of these fields have particularly high potential in the Karlsruhe TechnologyRegion.

Transformation fields

Green Economy

The green economy transformation field is used in the areas of the circular economy, climate and environmental protection, bioeconomy, renewable energies and the plant-based economy.

Green & Smart Mobility

The Green & Smart Mobility field is home to the mobility topics of tomorrow, such as future public mobility, autonomous driving and hydrogen.

Smart Production

The Smart Production thematic area deals with the key issues for the industry of the future, such as industrial robotics, smart factories and battery cells.

Life Science

This area focuses on medical topics such as care technology and medtech innovation, diagnostics and therapy or personalized medicine.

Social Innovation

The field of social innovation encompasses new ideas and solutions that contribute to overcoming social challenges in areas such as education, the environment, health and social issues.

Project activities

TRK Expert:innennetz

In-depth expertise is already available in the Karlsruhe TechnologyRegion in all of these subject areas. In order to better access these valuable resources, the TRK Expert:innen network portrays outstanding experts in their field. In this way, knowledge about innovation potential is made usable.

The network enables cooperation between different stakeholders from business and science, releases synergies and raises awareness among other stakeholders. This instrument will be supplemented and expanded over the course of the project. In addition, it is planned to publish the profiles via existing network and cluster channels, the economic development agency and the TRK 's communication channels.

TRK Innovation Atlas

In addition to the TRK Expert:innen network, the TRK Innovation Atlas provides a transparent presentation of regional innovation players and their services, expertise and contact information. This digital platform makes it easier for small and medium-sized companies to access new technologies and development methods. The database is being updated and expanded as part of the InnoTranSystem TRK project.

We also promote regional cooperation through exchange formats between various innovative players such as cluster initiatives, business development agencies, chambers, innovation and start-up centers.

This project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor and Tourism of the State of Baden-Württemberg.
