RE²combine - Regional network for value creation from bio-based raw and residual material streams in the Karlsruhe TechnologyRegion
We network players in the value chains of the wood and paper industry, food production and bioenergy in order to jointly develop new ideas and put innovative technologies into practice.
The aim is to increase value creation from renewable raw materials and avoid waste by making high-quality use of by-products and residual flows.
RE²combine project
Sustainable innovation through regional cooperation
To begin with, the value chains are analyzed in order to identify the potential, challenges and specific needs of the individual players. This is done together with a comprehensive survey and mapping to identify industry synergies.
Raw material suppliers, technology developers and users are brought together in interdisciplinary workshops to develop new solutions for the sustainable use of biogenic resources and to exchange best practice. In addition, knowledge transfer and the practical integration of innovative concepts are promoted in dialogs with primary producers and players in inter-company material flow management.
Ideas and examples of innovations in the field of bioeconomy will be specifically addressed in several workshops. Research and companies are given the opportunity to present their technologies and business models. Finally, particularly promising approaches and ideas are specifically supported in the initiation of demonstration and piloting.
The project results will be systematically recorded, processed and published. The aim is to raise awareness among other stakeholders and enable the transferability of successful concepts.
